Dear Members of Exton Parish Council,
My name is Bethany Moreton and I run Friends of Friends Festival, a boutique camping event held at St Clairs Farm, Big Boot Lake.
I am writing in advance of submitting a Premises Licence application to provide clarity on the nature and structure of the event. The festival has operated for the past two years under Temporary Event Notices with an attendance of 499. We are now applying for a Premises Licence in order to place the event on a formal, properly regulated footing with defined controls.
I have lived at St Clairs my whole life, and the character of the area is important to me personally as well as professionally.
For 2026, the proposed capacity is 1,100 people including staff and contractors. The event takes place over two nights, on the Friday and Saturday of the last weekend of June, this year 26th and 27th. Programmed music will finish at 02:00 each night.
As a contained weekend camping event, attendees arrive within managed time windows and remain on site for the duration of the event.
A detailed Noise Management Plan has been prepared in consultation with an independent acoustic consultant. This includes real time monitoring and defined procedures should levels approach agreed limits.
We are working with experienced, independent professionals across safety, medical provision, security and acoustic management. A dedicated residents contact number and email will operate throughout the event to ensure any concerns are addressed promptly and directly.
The application has been developed in dialogue with Local Authority Licensing and Environmental Health, taking their guidance into account.
